The “Quick Look” is Andre and Molly’s newsletter where we take a quick look at past, present and future activities surrounding our ministry in Greece. August is already here and we can’t believe how fast 2017 has flown by. This has been a challenging but fruitful year for us as missionaries in the field. So here is a quick look at we are up to in Greece.
Looking back at the months leading up to Summer we can witness the continuous faithfulness of God despite unforeseen physical and financial challenges. In May, Andre was invited to minister in Italy at an event to strengthen a church plant in the small town of Lubriano, in Lazio. He was originally scheduled to speak at the Saturday evening session but ended up speaking in a total of four sessions including twice on Sunday. God moved intimately in each session. Andre was not only able to minister the Word, but also pray for salvations, healing and deliverance. It was a weekend full of worship, teaching and fellowship. There has never been an evangelical church in the region of Lubriano. It was deeply encouraging to witness the resolve of Pastor Claudio Ferro and his church to reach their community with the Gospel. We ask that you please keep the folks at Ministerio Insieme, Pr. Claudio and his family in prayer.
As we look around at this current season we are overwhelmed with joy at the real opportunities to manifest the glory of God in Greece. Andre continues to minister to the local church at Glyfada Christian Center by often preaching on Sundays, teaching on Wednesdays and leading home Bible studies. Molly also continues serving faithfully heading up the Children’s Department and thinking of ways to strengthen our ministry to them. Our prayer is that each of these activities will produce fruit in new salvations and growth of the church body. Our small groups have had a high frequency of unbelievers and shows great potential for outreach to locals in our area. Please pray that God will bless us with a fresh word and anointing to impact the lives of those around us. We invite you to join us as we continue our journey into the second half of 2017. The months ahead are shaping to be full of new challenges. Beginning in September, Andre will restart his outreach to professional athletes and artists in Athens. Ministry to athletes is challenging because of the nature of their work and travel schedule, but Andre is already in touch with a couple of athletes interested in gathering for worship, study and prayer. Our group last season produced great results. Pray that God will open new doors of opportunities among them. Also in September, Molly will resume her outreaching to gypsy children at the Petalouda Educational Center. Please keep her in your prayers as she ventures into high risk areas around Athens.
Finally, in the upcoming months we will have serious decisions to make about our future in Greece. Our residency visa expires in November, and by late September we need to have started the renewal process. Our particular type of visa is expensive and requires a significant amount of money in the bank in order to secure it. Our chances of renewal are high but experience tells us we need to be prepared for any eventuality. We do not intend to live in Greece without a visa, so please keep us in prayer as we attempt to discern God’s direction for this next season.
We would like to thank you for your prayers and partnership. Please click on this link to know how you can support each of these projects.
In His name,
